José Vicente Arcenio de Obaldía y Orejuela (19 July 1806 – 28 December 1889) was a Neogranadine statesmen and lawyer, who served as President of the Republic of the New Granada in two occasions between 1851–1852 and 1854-1855. He was also a key figure in the Panamanian struggle for independence and his son José Domingo de Obaldía became President of Panama.
José de Obaldía was born in Santiago de Veraguas, Colombia (now Panama) and died in David.[1]
